What is in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania ? BLOOMSBURG CARPET !

We visited the manufacturing plant of  BLOOMSBURG and there we were greeted with warmth and hospitality. Meeting people who have worked there 30 years and being introduced to the men and women who make the company a team really was a pleasure. A special person "Jim" who gave us the tour, knew every machine used in the manufacturing process. He discussed in detail how each carpet was made and spoke with much passion and conviction. Every process from design to a finished product was discussed.
Bloomsburg is the only mill in this country that can provide three weaves, Axminster, Velvet, and Wilton all under one roof, thus offering its clients a great deal of flexibility. The design studio also continues to challenge technology by creating innovative patterns and weaving structures that correspond with currents trends.

Because of the strict adherence to only top quality standards, Bloomsburg manufactures exclusively woven carpets. Our stock lines include wools, wool/nylon blends, and 100% nylons. http://bloomsburgcarpet.com/

maleneb. was truly everything you think she would be! Meeting both Gary (her business partner) and Malene were like meeting old friends. Her talent and dedication to the business is very impressive. Starting at a very young age she wanted to do something with art. Her design is built around the authentic image. Malene b is a Brooklyn based carpet designer with a multi-disciplinary background in textile arts, painting and illustration from New York's Fashion Institute of Technology.

For more than a decade, Malene b has been creating carpets for industry professionals and private label brands. Now, with the launch of her own company, Malene b- Custom Handmade Carpets, her collection's are showcased in showrooms across the US and Canada. In addition, her work has been featured in several national and international magazines such as Interior Design, New York Magazine and Hospitality Design.

Malene b’s unique carpets, inspired by her international travels, boldly interpret cultural icons, landscapes and rituals in an entirely fresh and personal way. Her passion for all things cultural stems from Malene b’s world travels to places like Dakar, Mumbai and Kuala Lumpur. Malene b personally designs each carpet to fit perfectly into your environment. Her signature style incorporates the use of three dimensional hand sculpting techniques resulting in varied surfaces, pile heights and textures.

It is important for Malene b to be socially conscious in all her endeavors. To that end, she proudly supports Goodweave and Aid to Artisans in their quest to eliminate child labor practices, provide education and preserve handmade crafts in Africa, Asia and South America.

CEU (continuation education units) "the vinyl flooring revolution"

Interior Surfaces ‘ Richard Munden presents CEU “the Vinyl Flooring Revolution” at IDIBC 2nd Annual CEU day
The second annual day meant to enhance designers ability to network, have fun and receive several CEU credits in one sitting was another success on Friday November 5, 2010.
The one hour presentation written by Parterre Flooring Systems was presented by Richard in an effort to increase designers awareness of the features and benefits of luxury vinyl tile and sheet goods and the enhancements made over the years. Munden spent a fair amount of time on installation, concrete floors and preparation as well as on product as the site conditions can make or break the installation. For complete product info on Parterre Flooring systems and to download the CEU presentation go to www.parterreflooring.com
For further feedback check out www.idibc.org
Interior Surfaces is the exclusive agent for Parterre Flooring systems in Western Canada

Expansion to the West
Furthering their commitment to National representation Prime flors is pleased to announce their partnership with Interior Surfaces in Western Canada. Located in Richmond , BC. Interior Surfaces is an Independent Agency for quality products, primarily, but not limited to floorcovering. “We are committed to servicing the Flooring Contract and A&D community and Prime Flors and Prime Walls provides us with that missing piece to round out our portfolio” Richard Munden, President of Interior Surfaces says. Furthermore it is clear that Prime is committed to the growth of the Canadian market and I look forward to a long and prosperous partnership” Munden is quoted. And with almost 30 years experience in the floor covering market Munden and his team has the capability to quickly entrench prime flors and walls in the Western Market and Hawaii.

PRIMEFLORS LAUNCHES NEW ‘SOCIAL ARCHITECTURE’: INSTANT-SHIP, ENVIRONMENTALLY AND SOCIALLY RESPONSIBLE CARPET TILE

Toronto, October 29, 2010 Roya Manufacturing & Supply Canada Inc. launched new collections in its Primeflors modular carpet and Prime Walls wallcoverings lines in Toronto in late September at IIIDEX/NEOCON, Canada’s largest trade show and conference for the built environment.
Social Architecture, our flagship Primeflors introduction, epitomizes emerging style trends, says Roya President and founder Ali Nikzad. “Designers have been asking for more geometric, multitone and random-lay patterns.”
The new collection is part of our expanding Prime Quick Ship program, a same-day, instant-ship offering that is unique in Canada.
“I’m very happy with Roya’s instant-ship program,” says Omar Rivera, Principal at retail and hospitality design firm Blue Banana Design Collective in Mississauga. “They have a lot of product in stock. We had a great experience working on a restaurant with Roya’s product because it arrived exactly when we needed it. We were in a time crunch with only three weeks, from conception to completion, to do the renovation. Without Roya, we couldn’t have pulled it off.
“Not only that, but our installer commented that it was one of his quickest and easiest lay installs ever because the random pattern was actually packed randomly in the box. Often, this isn’t the case, and it can be a problem because you don’t want to put all the thick and thin stripes together. Our installer was quite impressed.”
“Carpet is always a critical link in meeting construction deadlines,” says Micheline Bartlett, President of Toronto-based Intercede Facility Management, a full-service interior design and relocation management firm. “Carpet is an item that can really mess up the progress of a project because you have to have it on the floor before the furniture and people can move in. They can move in without doors, hardware or even permanent lighting. But you would never move in without carpet because you’d have to lift all the furniture out and put it back in again.
“Another aspect of why carpet can be a problem is, often, a contractor who wins a job doesn’t order the carpet in time. Then we designers have to scramble to find a substitute, because the contractor can’t hold up the deadline on completing the project and the client’s move-in date.”
Although designers typically have comfortable lead times to specify carpet, Bartlett cautions that designers still run into a time crunch.
“Just because we specced it doesn’t mean it got ordered that day. First, the client has to approve the product—the pattern and colour scheme. Then, several budgetary approvals have to take place: No carpet company will produce the carpet until they’ve got a purchase order in their hands.”
Social Architecture modular carpet boasts a lifetime warranty; UniBak Plus, one of the most reliable carpet tile backing systems in the industry; and sustainable environmental attributes. Roya’s ISO 9000 quality management system, ISO 14001 environmental management system and CARE carpet reclamation program helps customers earn LEED (leadership in energy and environmental design) points. We are also a socially responsible company, committed to manufacturing within North America.
As for Roya’s Prime Walls wallcoverings, “Interior designers want a unique product, and we have an aggressive plan to provide lots of it,” says Roya’s Nikzad.
At IIDEX/NeoCon, we also introduced Shardana, a high-end collection featuring an embossed, three-dimensional metallic surface and hand-placed beads, for a distinctive, romantic look. The patterns encompass wide horizontal stripes, narrow vertical stripes, lacy interlocking circles, a harlequin pattern and a diagonal grid superimposed on a checkerboard. Shardana is available in custom colours for orders as low as 30 yards.
Richard Eppstadt of Toronto retail and hospitality firm Eppstadt Design says, “As a Zen minimalist, I’m drawn to Shardana’s horizontal stripe. It strikes out in a new direction because most people in the industry are using a vertical stripe. The horizontal figure is nice because it elongates a wall. I could see using it behind a bed in a hotel room. The horizontal stripes would look out of context and thereby add drama to the room.”
About Roya Manufacturing & Supply Canada Inc.

Prime Walls encompasses a wide-ranging collection of vinyl, textile and high-end, handmade wall coverings, all exclusive to Canada. Our most recent partnership with "SURFACE INNOVATION INC"

"interior surfaces" now has a wonderful and exciting product sandstone veneers and real slate as wall covering ! You would just be excited of all the possibilities it can offer! I have travelled and I have seen luxurious hotels and beautiful homes in Florence, Greece even in Asia where marble is used everywhere. Do you know what they have in common? Their homes are made of concrete and slabs of stones adorn their homes. Of course these countries can find resources right in their backyard but for us here where the walls are not so secure and the resources for these stones are mostly imported, now we offer a solution!  It is economical, carbon foot print is extremely low and it has the effect you are looking for...luxury and easy installation! (the slates are 2mm thin.)

As you can see their booth was inundated with consumers, contractors, builders, designers and agents like us.

Presenting Richard Munden "www.interiorsurfaces.ca"

"Interior Surfaces needs to succeed because I want to be able to take my children to school in the morning and take my family on Vacations and watch my family make sandcastles on the beach. To have the ability to make my own decisions and live by my own accountability" by RM

We made this video to let people know that flooring and wall covering is what frames your home, your condo, office, retail and commercial spaces and often it is thought of as unglamorous and we wanted to show that our company "ïnterior surfaces" can bring glamour, design, and fun to your walls and floors and most of all competitive pricing and great service.

Please enjoy the video and there will be lots more to come very soon !

My newest slogan "Today is the best day of my life"

People asked me lately how I am doing and my reply is " never been better, the best day of my life! " I guess people thought I would crawl under a rock and wither away but instead I chose to be a survivor. To survive means a lot of things to people, most need their family, others.... the basic needs in life like water shelter and food. I chose keep my head up high and live like I've never lived before and love my family as if life depends on it. So for all the people who have lost something, someone and people ask you how you are doing?  you respond "never been better, the best day of my life ! " because let's face it tomorrow may never come.

Thank you for all your support to my family, friends and colleagues !

Creating a name...

Ambient Bamboo

NOVA Distinctive flooring

Creating a name for yourself is difficult but having great products and standing by them is rare. Really believing in your products and knowing the story and the history behind the line is what it takes to sell the product. People want to buy the heart, you want to sell reasonable priced products made with great intentions behind them. Where the products produced to last? To provide livelhood for the workers that make the products? Is it good for the environment? These are questions you must ask when buying any products.
